Match Of Southern Sides Nets 1-1 Draw for Host NCFC

North Carolina FC played an exciting match against the Tampa Bay Rowdies on Saturday night at WakeMed Soccer Park, resulting in a 1-1 draw. With this result, NCFC earned their second point of the season, bringing their record to 0-1-2 for the year.

Despite North Carolina's strong performance with a 14-3 lead in shots, including 3-1 shots on target, it was the visitors who initially took the lead. In the 63rd minute, a corner kick deflected off NCFC midfielder Mikey Maldonado, resulting in an own goal that put Tampa Bay ahead.

However, NCFC didn't let this setback deter them. In the 75th minute, Louis Perez delivered a beautiful cross that found Rafa Mentzingen, who confidently scored the equalizer, marking his first goal of the 2024 season. This goal showcased NCFC's determination and resilience, characteristics that served them well in the previous season.
