The match concluded a busy two-match week for both clubs following their engagements in the US Open Cup. Despite the picturesque sunset backdrop and mild temperature, relentless winds ranging from 10-20 mph blowing from end to end significantly influenced the game.
Greenville started proceedings with the wind at their backs, aiming to capitalize on the favorable conditions. The home side dominated the first half, controlling possession and creating opportunities, but were unable to break the deadlock. The most notable chance came in the 43rd minute when Sebastian Velasquez was fouled in the box, earning Greenville a penalty kick.
